Business Affairs Analyst

Description

Reporting to the Manager, Business & Legal Affairs, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Business & Legal Affairs team in a dynamic environment, namely in assisting in the administration of all fund applications and execution arrangement of key production contracts. 

Duties and responsibilities
Contract & Agreement Management
·       Monitor all agreements and contractual deliverables.
·       Assist with execution deliverables for financiers, distributors, and broadcasters for production and development projects.
·       Handle closing legal deliverables for financiers, distributors, and broadcasters.
·       Manage brand extension agreements for the marketing team.
·       Prepare and maintain billing notes for all productions.
Funding & Applications
·       Maintain proactive familiarity with funding guidelines and deadlines.
·       Manage marketing and digital funding applications, agreements, and deliverables.
Administrative & Organizational Support
·       Maintain an organized workspace and file all business and legal affairs paperwork, including structured digital filing on the server.
·       Assist Manager in organizing paper flow for all bank closings.
·       Provide backup and support for other Business & Legal team members.
·       Organize weekly Business & Legal Affairs meetings and update agendas.
Production & Music Administration
·       Liaise with production offices and internal departments to collect required elements for production.
·       Administer music licenses and cue sheets for all productions.
·       Prepare composer agreements, music supervisor agreements, and music services agreements/templates per show.
·       Draft writer and story editor agreements and other crew deal memos.
Corporate & Compliance
·       Manage production company incorporations and dissolutions for all projects.
·       Act as the Gender, Diversity & Inclusion survey point person and maintain internal trackers.
·       Administer and support retransmission royalties (CRC, PACC, COMPACT, etc.).

Required Skills and Qualifications
·                 Strong attention to detail
·                 Strong relationship management skills and experience dealing with external parties
·                 Familiarity with WGC, ACTRA, CAVCO regulations/processes an asset
·                 Familiarity with the various Funds’ guidelines an asset
·                 Post-secondary education
·                 Exceptional people skills
·                 Computer skills/Microsoft Office/MAC/Adobe Pro
·                 Autonomous, confident style
·                 Deadline orientated, with exceptional organizational skills
·                 Positive, flexible and friendly manner
·                 Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment and deal with organic growth
·                 Proactive team player

Compensation

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
